Using Data Visualization in Sport for Social Change Nonprofit Management

Professional sports teams and leagues are increasingly relying on big data and consequently adequate data visualization programs and techniques to communicate with upper management and make data driven decisions for daily, weekly, and monthly operations. Sport nonprofits have much more limited resources but can greatly benefit from data visualization techniques to communicate effectiveness and impact with their communities and more importantly donors. This is a case study of how one Bay Area sport nonprofit has used its data and creative data visualization to distribute information to donors. Further, it is an example of how this practice has transferred to higher visibility in the wider community and provided return on their investment.
