Sayvon JL Foster

Texas A&M University Division of Sport Management
Graduate Research & Teaching Assistant
College Station, TX
Sayvon JL Foster is a current second-year doctoral student in the Sport Management program at Texas A&M University. With his specialization in Higher Education-Student Affairs Administration, his primary research interest investigates collegiate athlete experience & development. In broad strokes, his research intersects sport, education, and society by exploring American college sport, the role & understanding of sport in society, and critical explorations of sport as an academic field.

Upon his graduation in May 2022, Mr. Foster aims to assume a tenure-track faculty position. Due to his overlapping interests, he is actively seeking faculty appointments in both fields (Sport Management and Higher Education). As his career progresses, the ideal structure consists of serving as a joint faculty member in both disciplines while also establishing a College Sport Leadership concentration and/or certificate that effectively pulls from both Sport Management and Higher Education-Student Affairs.
