Shape Your Life Education is a new, open-source, web-based resource where teachers and self-directed learners will find materials focused on gendered violence and trauma-informed physical activity. Lesson modules are based on research from the Shape Your Life (SYL) boxing program and a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning project piloting the teaching materials. SYL is a free, non-contact boxing program for survivors of gendered violence, including intimate partner violence and sexual violence. In this presentation, we will engage some of the videos and self-paced activities that address intersectionality and the impacts of violence and trauma. The interactive presentation will focus on efforts to develop engaged pedagogy to move beyond the academy and offer space for change, invention, active-learning, and activism.
